Recipe of Sooji ka Halwa in Desi Ghee

Ingredients:

  • Sooji- 200 gms
  • Sugar- 120 gms
  • Ghee- 1 small cup
  • Chopped Dry Fruits (cashew, almonds, cuddapah almond, raisin, and desiccated coconut)

Add sooji in a wok/kadhayi and start roasting it on low to medium flame.

The colour of sooji changes to light brown in less than 10 minutes. Make sure to use a wok with thick bottom else you may end up burning sooji.

Add ghee to the wok and mix it well properly.

Once it is mixed properly and colour of sooji is brown, you can proceed to a next step.

Now add chopped dry fruits to the wok and mix it well. You can choose dry fruits of your choice.

Now add sugar to it and mix it properly again.

Now add water to the wok. Make sure the flame is low while adding water otherwise it may splutter and harm you.

Keep stirring until water disappears

Keep stirring and sooji will absorb water. Once water is completely disappeared, your halwa is ready to serve.
