Ingredients:

  • Jaggery/Gudd/Gur- 100 gms
  • Phool Makhana/Fox Nuts- Quantity you can choose as per your taste, I have taken big bowl full of makhane.
  • Almonds/Badam- 50 gms
  • Cuppupah Almonds/Chironji- 50 gms
  • Cashew/Kaju- 50 gms
  • Raisin/Kishmish- 40 gms
  • Desiccated Coconut/nariyal ka bhura- 20 gms you can increase the quantity as per your taste)
  • Ghee- around one cup

Take a wok/kadhayi and add 3 table spoons of ghee in it.

Now add phool makhana in the wok and roast in ghee for 5-7 minutes on low to medium flame.

Keep stirring with the help of a slotted spoon while roasting fox nuts.

Now remove makhana from the wok once it turns slightly golden.

Now again add 4 table spoons of ghee in the wok and add all the dry fruits to it. Roast the dry fruits on medium flame for 5-6 minutes.

Keep stirring the dry fruits while roasting them else you may end up burning them.

Keep roasted dry fruits in a separate plate or bowl.

Now it is the time to roast desiccated coconut. Add 2 table spoons of ghee and desiccated coconut in the same wok and roast for 5 minutes until it turns light golden brown.

After roasting, next step is grinding. Except, desiccated coconut and cuddapah almonds, grind all the dry fruits in a grinder. Also, grind makhana slightly in a grinder, however make sure not to turn it completely into powder.

Now with the help of a fork or with your hands, crush jaggery (Gudd/Gur) to break the big lumps.

Now everything is ready to mix together.

Add everything in a wok and mix it well while keeping flame on low for around 5 minutes. You can also add 2-3 table spoons of sooji in the mixture while roasting, however I prefer it without sooji.

Once the mixture reaches room temperature, you can start making laddoo with your hands.

Take one and a half table spoon of mixture in your palm. Press the mixture and roll between your palm to form a round shape. If you face problem in making round balls, it may be because jaggery’s quantity is less to gather and stick mixture together. Add more jaggery (warm) to the mixture in this case. Repeat with the remaining dough.
