Dudhi/Lauki Pakora Recipe (Low Calorie)
|Ingredients:
- Bottle Gourd (Lauki/Dudhi)- 200 gms
- Gram Flour (besan)- 100 gms
- Ginger paste (optional)- 1 table spoon
- Coriander leaves (optional)- 1 bunch
- Turmeric- 1 teaspoon
- Red chilly powder- 1 and a half teaspoon
- Coriander powder- 1 and a half teaspoon
- Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
- Salt as per taste
This is a healthy alternative to the deep fried pakodas. This is a message to those who do not like to eat lauki/dudhi at all. Try this and you will not regret. These pakodas can also be used to make curry of lauki kofta. 5 medium sized lauki pakode comprises of around 95 calories.
First of all peel off the bottle gourd and grate it using box grater. Then squeeze out the water from dudhi.
Take it in a bowl and add besan and all the spices including turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, and 1 tablespoon salt. Ginger paste and coriander leaves are optional.
Now apply/brush oil to the pan and heat on medium flame.
Place the mixture to the pan with the help of a spoon and press it gently to flatten it. Cover the lid for 2 mins and cook on medium flame.
Turn it around when it becomes golden brown. Cook properly from both sides.
Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve these bottle gourd/lauki pakode with chutney of your choice.
