Healthy Snack Options I Found During My Weight-Loss Journey
Lately I have been working on myself and in the process I lost around 12 kgs. I weighed around 68-69 which has now reduced to 55.5 kgs (as of first week of May 2021). Since I am a foodie, during my weight-loss journey I searched for various healthy food options which can satisfy my cravings. Below are the options I found out for snacks which include both veg and non-veg dishes. Recipes for the below dishes are available, just click on the title or image.
Chicken tikka is a great source of protein and is considered as a healthy choice since there is not coatings over it and it is not deep fried. This has been my favourite snack option if I am going out to a restaurant/hotel. You can also cook this at home without any oven/tandoor, just click on the picture above to find recipe. 5 chicken tikka pieces comprises of around 180-190 calories.
This is one of the best dish for vegans as its main ingredient is soya chunks. This is also loaded with protein as well as balanced amount of carbohydrate with very less oil, thus considered as a great weight-loss snack option. 5 soya kebabs comprises of around 160-170 calories.
Since chicken is a great source of protein which helps in weight-loss, here is one more dish made up of chicken. Chicken shami kebab cooked in very less oil is healthy and tasty at the same time. Take only breast pieces (without skin) as it comprises of least amount of fat and calories. Go through the recipe and do let me know in the comment section below if you try it. 5 grilled kebabs comprises of around 160 calories.
Patte ke Steamed Pakode
When you crave for pakoda or bhajiya but you can’t have it since you are trying to lose weight, these steamed pakode made up of colocasia leaves (Arbi ke Patte / Taro Leaves) is the best alternative option. Recipe for this one will be oil soon.
This snack is a different form of moong daal k pakode. Cooked with moong daal in very less oil, this recipe provides protein as well as balanced amount of carbohydrate for weight-loss. 5 medium size tikki comprises of around 150 calories.
Another recipe for my vegan friends. This is actually paneer tikka recipe, however, if you replace paneer with tofu, it becomes a tasty and healthy snack option for you. Tofu (which is made of soya milk) is an amazing source of protein. 100 grams of tofu tikka provides around 160-170 calories. Recipe is available for the same without oven.
Lauki (bottle gourd) is low in saturated fats, cholesterol, high Vitamin C, riboflavin, zinc, thiamine, iron, and magnesium. A lot of us do not like this vegetable, however, you can have it in different forms like pakodas (which we usually crave for). The recipe for the same is just one click away from you. 5 medium sized lauki pakode comprises of around 95 calories.
